Yes,...the County did sent out a letter stating that they would "voluntarily" attempt to lower your property tax bill, however, we recommend that you file the Property Tax Revaluation Form before NOVEMBER 30 (see below).

SACRAMENTO COUNTY PROPERTY OWNERS

The Sacramento County Assessor allows taxpayer property owners to appeal the assessed values of their homes between July 1st - November 30th annually. Although the window of time to appeal closed on November 30, 2011 for the 2011-2012 property tax bill, on July 2, 2011 the Sacramento Assessor will open up the window to appeal your home's assessed value using home values in effect on the January 1, 2011 LIEN DATE. (Notice the lien date is 6 months earlier than the date you can appeal). You should begin the process in the Spring 2011 to lower your property taxes, by following these steps below:
